News: Piquionne has recovered from a neck injurey and should be fit to play in the vital match away to Blackburn.
Analysis: He might be worth taking a chance on against a poor Blackburn defence.
|
News: Piquionne kept his place after scoring twice against Stoke City's reserves in the Carling Cup, and scored his first Premier League goal. But he left the field on a stretcher after suffering a head injury.
Analysis: Worth keeping on your radar, but nothing more - yet.
|
News: Dropped for the match against Everton, Piquionne responded in the best possible way by scoring twice for the reserves in a victory over West Ham United. He will be involved in Saturday's match away to Wolves, but will most likely start on the bench.
Analysis: This is no indication that he can score for the Portsmouth first team, but neither can any of the club's forwards.
|
News: Piquionne has yet to score in five matches, and never looked like doing so in the 3-2 home defeat by Bolton Wanderers, despite one or two presentable chances. Lacks the physical presence to be a dominant target man or the pace to be a poacher.
Analysis: There are plenty of better options out there.
|
News: Piquionne was an immediate hit with Portsmouth fans when he scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over Rangers at Fratton Park. He demonstrated a full range of skills, rounding the goalkeeper to score and also finding the net with a looping header.
Analysis: It was a weakened Rangers side, but Piquionne impressed with his workrate. That said, Portsmouth are likely to find the going tough this season and he will have to work hard to get goals in a side short of attacking flair.
